The songbird collection began with the debut of the male cardinal or "red bird" in 2001 and has been growing steadily since that time. Brooks often remarks, "I wonder exactly how many cardinals we have made in the past 10 years." His first cardinal has evolved numerous times since sketching the initial design on paper. The birds were first perched on a simple slice of fencepost ~ now they are sitting proudly on an antique spindle base. Four new birds have been added for 2011, and we are anticipating more will follow in the ensuing years.
